Mercedes Service Dubai: Schedules, Costs and What’s Included

Your Mercedes has just shown a Service A or Service B reminder, or a year has passed since its last visit. Now you need to decide what the service should cover and where to take the car. In Dubai, the answers differ a little from the owner's manual.

Summer temperatures of 45–50°C, fine sand in the air, crawling traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road and cars parked outdoors in direct sun all put extra strain on oil, filters and rubber parts.

This guide explains a Mercedes service in Dubai from a technician's point of view: what Service A and B include, how often to service, the warning signs, what drives the cost and how pickup and drop-off servicing works.

Every Mercedes service starts with an engine oil and filter change, using oil approved for your engine.

What does a Mercedes service include?

A Mercedes service includes an engine oil and filter change with oil that meets the Mercedes-Benz approval for your engine, fluid level checks, a tyre and brake inspection, and a service indicator reset. Service B adds a cabin filter, brake fluid and a wider inspection. Items such as spark plugs and gearbox oil are added by mileage or age.

How the ASSYST indicator decides what is due

Most Mercedes models from the last two decades use ASSYST or ASSYST PLUS, a flexible service system that tracks time, distance and, on many models, how the engine has been used. Message wording and menu names vary by model year and market, so a W205 C-Class and a W223 S-Class display reminders differently. Your service booklet or digital service record lists the work for your exact car.

Items added by mileage and age

Some items fall due on their own timeline. A good technician checks your records and adds them only when needed.

  • Engine air filter. Replaced by distance or condition. Dubai dust often clogs it sooner than the schedule suggests.
  • Spark plugs. Petrol engines such as the M274, M264 and M256 need new plugs at set intervals. Worn plugs cause misfires and rough running.
  • Brake fluid. It absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point. Mercedes schedules usually renew it every two years.
  • Gearbox oil. The 722.9 7G-Tronic and 725.0 9G-Tronic gearboxes have their own service interval, which many owners overlook.
  • 12V battery test. Heat shortens battery life, so a test is worth doing at every visit in Dubai.

Mercedes Service A and B at a glance

Mercedes Service A and B alternate on most models. Service A is the lighter visit, built around an oil and filter change and a safety check. Service B includes everything in Service A, plus a cabin filter change, a brake fluid exchange when due and a more detailed inspection of wear items across the car.

Treat the table as a typical guide, not a fixed menu. Exact content varies by model, engine, year and market. A GLE with AIRMATIC air suspension, for example, needs different checks from an A-Class on steel springs.

How often should you service your Mercedes in Dubai?

Most recent Mercedes models ask for a service about once a year or at a set distance, whichever comes first. The distance varies by model, engine and market. In Dubai, heat, dust and stop-start traffic count as severe use, so many owners sensibly change their oil before the indicator asks for it.

Reading your Mercedes maintenance schedule

Your Mercedes maintenance schedule sits in the service booklet or digital service record. It lists the A and B services plus the time- and mileage-based items. ASSYST adjusts timing to how the car is driven, but it cannot measure everything Dubai conditions throw at it.

Normal use vs severe use

Normal use means mostly steady journeys in moderate temperatures. Severe use covers the conditions below, and most Dubai cars meet several of them every week.

  • Extreme heat. Summer temperatures of 45–50°C push oil temperatures higher, especially in slow traffic.
  • Dust and sand. Fine sand loads up air and cabin filters and works its way into rubber boots and seals.
  • Stop-start traffic. Rush hour on Sheikh Zayed Road or Al Khail Road means long idling with little cooling airflow.
  • Short trips. A school run may not let the oil reach full temperature, so moisture and fuel stay in it.
  • AC on full. The air conditioning works hard most of the year, adding load on the engine and electrics.

Dubai tip

Engine oil breaks down faster when it runs hot for long periods, and Dubai traffic keeps it hot. Air filters clog sooner because of fine sand and dust, which reduces airflow and response. Cabin filters work almost all year with the AC on full, so they fill with dust and can smell musty in humid months. Check all three more often than the indicator suggests.

There is no single correct interval for every Mercedes in Dubai. A G-Class (W463) used for desert trips needs a different approach from an E-Class (W213) doing motorway runs to Abu Dhabi. If your car mostly does short trips, sits in traffic or lives outdoors, consider an extra oil change between indicator services.

Signs your Mercedes needs a service before the dashboard reminder

Your Mercedes may need attention before the reminder appears if you notice an oil level warning, brake noise, weak or musty air conditioning, rough running or harsher gear changes. The indicator follows a schedule, but it cannot detect every problem. In the workshop, we often see cars that need work well before they are due.

  • Oil level warning. Many recent models have no dipstick and show oil level in a cluster menu. Never ignore a top-up message.
  • Squealing or grinding brakes. A squeal often means worn pads, while grinding can mean metal-on-metal contact.
  • Weak or smelly AC. Reduced airflow or a musty smell often points to a blocked cabin filter.
  • Rough idle or hesitation. Worn spark plugs, a dirty air filter or tired oil can make the engine feel lumpy.
  • Harsh gear changes. Jerky shifts on a 7G-Tronic or 9G-Tronic can point to ageing fluid, among other causes, and need diagnosis.
  • Warning lights. Any engine, brake or electrical warning needs a proper diagnostic check, not a guess.

Safety note

Only check fluids with the engine off and the car on level ground. Never open the coolant expansion tank on a warm engine, as hot coolant can spray out under pressure. If your brakes grind or the pedal feels soft, stop driving and have the car inspected.

What affects Mercedes service cost in Dubai?

Mercedes service cost in Dubai depends on five main things: your model and engine, whether Service A or Service B is due, which extra items fall due, your choice of genuine, aftermarket or used parts, and any additional work found during the inspection. Two cars with the same badge can need very different work.

Model, engine and service type

A V8 in a G-Class takes far more oil than a four-cylinder A-Class (W177). Diesels such as the OM654 use AdBlue on many models, and AMG models often need specific parts and more labour. Service B costs more than Service A, and the total rises when several time-based items fall due together.

Parts choice: genuine, aftermarket or used

Genuine Mercedes-Benz parts match the factory specification. Quality aftermarket parts can offer good value for filters and brake pads. Used parts can make sense for larger components on older cars, but rarely for service items. For a newer car you plan to keep, genuine parts are often the simplest choice.

Extra work found during the inspection

An inspection sometimes finds worn brake discs, leaking seals or a weak battery. These are not part of the service itself. A good workshop explains what it found and how urgent it is, then lets you decide. Send your model, year and mileage on WhatsApp for a free quote.

Dealer service vs independent Mercedes specialist

Both a dealership and an independent Mercedes specialist can service your car well. The dealership suits cars under manufacturer warranty or needing recall work. An independent specialist often suits out-of-warranty cars, offering dealer-level workmanship, more choice over parts and extras such as pickup and drop-off. The right choice depends on your car's age and situation.

When the dealership is the better choice

  • Warranty repairs. Faults covered by the manufacturer's warranty should go to the dealership.
  • Recalls and campaigns. Official recalls and many software campaigns are handled through the dealer network.

When an independent specialist makes sense

Once a Mercedes is out of warranty, many owners want a specialist who knows the cars just as well but offers more flexibility, including a choice of parts. Choose a workshop that specialises in Mercedes-Benz, not a general garage. It should use oil with the correct approval, such as MB 229.5 or MB 229.52, and know the common faults on each chassis.

How pickup and drop-off servicing works

Pickup and drop-off servicing means you do not need to drive to the workshop. You share your car's details, agree on what is due and the quote, and arrange a collection time. The car is collected from your home or office anywhere in Dubai, serviced, then returned to you.

  1. Send your car details. Message your model, year and mileage on WhatsApp. A photo of the service reminder helps.
  2. Get a clear quote. We confirm whether Service A or B is due, list any extra items and explain your parts options.
  3. Arrange collection. Choose a time and place, whether your villa in Arabian Ranches or your office in Business Bay.
  4. Service and inspection. Our technicians carry out the agreed service and inspect the car's wear items.
  5. Approve any extra work. If we find anything else, we explain it first. Nothing extra goes ahead without your approval.
  6. Drop-off. Your car is returned with the service indicator reset and a summary of the work done.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Mercedes service cost in Dubai?

The cost depends on your model and engine, whether Service A or Service B is due, any extra items such as brake fluid or spark plugs, and whether you choose genuine, aftermarket or used parts. For an accurate figure, send your model, year and mileage on WhatsApp for a free quote.

What is the difference between Mercedes Service A and Service B?

Service A covers an engine oil and filter change, fluid checks, a tyre and brake inspection and a service indicator reset. Service B includes all of that, plus a cabin filter change, a brake fluid exchange when due and a more detailed inspection. Exact content varies by model and market.

How often should I service my Mercedes in Dubai?

Follow the ASSYST service indicator as a minimum, which on many recent models means about once a year or at a set distance. Because Dubai heat, dust and stop-start traffic count as severe use, many owners change the oil earlier, especially for short trips or cars parked outdoors.

Is it okay to skip Service A?

We do not recommend it. Service A includes the engine oil and filter change, the most important part of any Mercedes service. In Dubai heat, old oil breaks down faster. Skipping a service can also leave worn brakes or low fluids unnoticed until they cause a bigger problem.

Do you use genuine Mercedes-Benz parts?

We source parts to suit each customer, including genuine Mercedes-Benz, aftermarket and used parts. Genuine parts match the factory specification, while quality aftermarket parts can offer good value for items like filters and brake pads. We explain the trade-offs so you can decide what fits your car and budget.

Can you collect my car from my home or office?

Yes. We cover the whole of Dubai with car pickup and drop-off. Send your car details on WhatsApp, agree the work and quote, and choose a collection time and place. We collect the car, carry out the service and return it to you.
